Global Company Policy

This policy describes how LocalKurb operates: its business model, the role of the hosts and service providers on the platform, and the checks LocalKurb carries out.

Business Model

LocalKurb operates an online platform that connects guests and customers with independent hosts and local businesses, and provides those businesses with tools to manage their bookings, orders and payments. LocalKurb is not an online travel agency (OTA), real estate agency or property management company. Hosts and service providers, not LocalKurb, offer the accommodation and services listed on the platform, and the contract for each stay or service is between the guest and that host or provider. LocalKurb earns a commission on bookings and orders paid online, together with the fees set out in the Host & Provider Agreement.

Independent Businesses

Each host and service provider runs an independent business and is responsible for:

Its prices, house rules and availability.
Its relationships and communication with its customers.
Collecting the guest details the law requires of it, such as traveller registration with the police in Spain, and protecting the customer data it receives.

Licences, Permits and LocalKurb's Checks

Each host and service provider is responsible for holding the licences, permits and tax registrations its activity requires. LocalKurb also carries out its own checks: a stay in Spain is published only after LocalKurb has reviewed its registration number, a listing is removed on a valid order from a public authority, and LocalKurb reports to the tax and housing authorities as described in the Privacy Policy.
